Hospital directory

Top hospitals in China, compared on facts

Every hospital below is a Tier-3 public institution with a dedicated international department. We list accreditation, annual case volume, languages supported and the specialties we actually refer to — not marketing copy.

Independent patient coordination. Zero markup on your hospital bill. Not medical advice.

Ratings are from our own post-trip patient surveys and are not clinical outcome measures. Annual case volumes are the hospitals' own published figures for the most recent year available. Flight times are approximate non-stop durations and vary by season and carrier.

How a hospital gets into this directory

Four filters, applied before a hospital is listed at all.

Tier-3 public institution

China's highest hospital tier, assessed by the National Health Commission on staffing, equipment, research output and safety record.

A dedicated international department

Not a general ward with an interpreter on call — a real department with its own registration desk, case managers and foreign-patient pricing.

Verifiable annual case volume

We only list hospitals that publish their surgical and outpatient volumes, so you can judge experience rather than reputation.

Documented record practice

Bilingual discharge summaries, imaging on disc and an English-language report you can hand to your own doctor at home.

This directory is a demonstration dataset. Replace assets/js/data.js with your own verified partner list, accreditation evidence and case volumes before publishing.

Choosing between hospitals

The questions patients ask us most when two hospitals both look suitable.

Should I always choose the highest-ranked hospital?

No. Ranking measures research output and specialty reputation, not whether a hospital is right for your particular case. A hospital ranked twentieth nationally in orthopaedics may still perform more knee replacements than the hospital ranked first overall.

What matters more: does the department treat your condition at volume, is the named surgeon available in your window, and can the international department support you in your language.

Does a JCI badge mean better care?

JCI accreditation means a hospital has met an international standard for patient safety processes, documentation and infection control. It is a useful floor. It is not a measure of surgical skill, and plenty of excellent Chinese departments have never applied for it.

About a quarter of the hospitals in this directory hold JCI or an equivalent international accreditation.

Can I be treated at a hospital in my own city in China?

If you are already in mainland China, yes — the same international departments accept self-paying patients regardless of nationality. Tell us your city and we will show you what is available locally before suggesting travel.

How current is this information?

Hospital profiles are reviewed quarterly by our editorial team, and case volumes are refreshed when hospitals publish new annual figures. Accreditation status is checked every six months. If you spot something out of date, tell us and we will correct it.

Do you take a commission from hospitals?

No. We are paid only by you, through the flat service fee. Hospitals do not pay us for placement, ranking or a better profile, and they cannot influence what our profiles say.
